Effect of plastic absorption rolling on HDPE honeycomb panel

  The side pressure test of HDPE honeycomb panel is mainly used to evaluate the bonding performance between panel and core. The failure mode of lateral pressure is more complex than that of bending and plane compression. The performance of lateral pressure is related to the panel structure, the fusion degree of core layer and panel, and the core layer structure. The failure modes of lateral pressure are generally as follows: wrinkling or corrugation of panel, separation of honeycomb core and panel, shear tortuosity, etc. It has many kinds of side pressure failure and complicated reasons.


  By observing the pictures of HDPE honeycomb panel in Dongguan plastics factory, it can be found that the panel of HDPE honeycomb panel will bear in-plane load and produce deformation when it is subjected to lateral compression load. Because the honeycomb lattice and the panel can keep mutual restraint, the panel first produces local buckling deformation. With the increase of load, the deformation of the panel becomes more obvious, which is manifested as wrinkling or bulging. The panel and core layer of Dongguan plastics factory produce large shear deformation, and the core layer and the panel are not peeled, which is different from the lateral compression failure of the traditional honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure based on the synergistic effect of plastic suction and rolling can bear the lateral load well.
